So Stinkin' Cute :)

Nathan is now 7 and a half months old, has 6 teeth (!!) and loves bathtime! He's still not overly mobile - and I am not complaining!! I love being able to just plop him on the floor and he sits there happily for a long time! I also don't want to figure out the gate again before we move, now that Joel has broken the replacement parts and we now have new replacement parts (ask Brad - it's a real pain to get it all lined up right on the wall). So here's hoping the little guy can stay happy on his hiney for awhile longer! Speaking of his hiney - we have done the switch to cloth diapers (mostly...). We are using FuzziBunz, ordered from www.cozybums.ca (great service, from PG) and we love them!! They come in the cutest colours and they are just working out really well. I'm also glad that a number of us have entered into this messy business together!! Way to go guys!! and thanks for the peer pressure - sometimes it's good to give in :)
Nathan is napping and Joel is DESPERATE for some attention so I best be going - I'm sure a game of Cariboo is waiting for me!

House update update!

*Update* on my house update.
Umm, it's done!! The deal is done! Our place is sold and we will remove our subject on Thursday. Wow! That didn't take long hey??

We still don't know. I'm not 100% sure we'll find out tonight. The CMHC is being stupid and the people are waiting on them.
I'll keep you posted :)

Home

Today we find out if our townhouse is sold. Today is the day. We will know if we are moving....
I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
In this time, I am trying to remember all the things I dislike about living here. It seems that as soon as I picture someone else living in my home, my space, using my appliances I start to freak out a bit. This has been our home for 5 and a half years. We have done so much work to get it how we want, brought 2 babies home here and have had many, many guests stay with us. We have the best neighbours - always ready for a chat in the alley, a barbeque on a hot summer evening, always willing to help out with the kids - giving Joel treats, taking him for a walk so I can have a break. They are awesome. I am sad to be leaving them.
BUT I am not sad to be leaving our many stairs, no yard, the inescapable heat of the summer, the cold drafts in the winter, J and N sharing a room, the lack of space everywhere.
I will miss my stove, my laundry machines, my ensuite. But that's all okay. They are just things. My memories will go with me. My family will be with me. We will have wonderful times wherever we are.
Our place is on realtor.ca now, pictures and everything if you'd like to take a look. The MLS# is V76110. As of tonight it may not be ours anymore.

A million thoughts

I also have a million titles for this post. Wow, as fast as time goes I want to speed up this week!! I have a VERY busy week ahead, meeting, meeting and another meeting....You Bethany folk know what I'm talking about. But besides that, we got an offer on our home over the weekend and they have until next Tuesday to remove their subjects and then we could remove our subject and then we would be moving!!!!

But anyway, I am trying to lay this all on God. I know. It is in His hands. Nothing I do will change how things are meant to work out. I will pray for peace. I will pray for patience. I will accept these as gifts that He provides in our times of need.

Here's a little more about Beth and Esther. Last week we watched the video for session 4. The further I get into this study the more I feel like she is talking to me!! God is talking to me!

This session was about facing our fears. Esther had to face the fear of death. She came to a point where she said to Mordecai, "And if I perish, I perish." Beth asks us the question, "And if I ______, then ____. She had us fill in the second blank with "God". If we lose this house, then God will.... Over the past few days I have asked myself so many "What if..." questions and seriously, the answer is that God will take care of me. He will take care of us. He will take care of you and your family.

So, what if? Then what? Then God.

She uses the word IF as an acronym for I FEAR. Therefore, if I keep asking these questions, I am giving in to the fear of the unknown. I must rely on what I know. I know Truth and I know that God is sovereign.

Trust God. Not that He won't let it happen. Just trust. He will be faithful.

Big Boy!!

It was a beautiful day here earlier this week. Joel got out to ride his bike in SHORTS!!! Wow! Spring is when it's easy to live here. I love that we get an early spring, when the sun shines that is!! The temperatures have been much nicer lately, the trees are budding, the flowers blooming. Our grass is green and growing and some people have already had the mower out! I'm not saying all this to make you snowy people jealous - it's to convince myself that sometimes living here isn't so bad!!
Joel is doing really well on his bike. He loves to ride around the area and he keeps me walking at a good pace to keep up. It's so nice to be able to get outside and enjoy it!

It's me that needs to change

I'm not overly sure where I am going with that title. I just know some things are necessary to change in my life. I have started a number of posts in the past few weeks that I have not finished, have not posted. I seem to be doing a fair bit of inner reflection. I am doing the Beth Moore Esther study right now with the a group of women at the church. I love it!! Do it if you can! But it makes me think. This past week 2 things have hit me especially hard. She writes about how Esther had been so isolated that she became self-absorbed and her biggest problem was the fact that the king hadn't called on her in 30 days. So when she finds out from Mordecai that the Jews are going to be annihilated, that is her main concern, that she can't just go to the king. Well, Beth goes on that we become like that. We shelter ourselves from problems and issues which ultimately can cause us to see minor annoyances as huge agonies. This is so true for me!! Although I do know how blessed I am to have what I have I still freak out over the smallest things. So... look for changes in me. I'm hoping/praying they will be found over the next months.
Also, she talks about how Esther was put in the palace for "such a time as this". This isn't really what I want to hear. I don't want to be placed here - I want to be placed somewhere else BUT she brings us to Act 17 : 26 which says, God "determined the times set for [us] and the exact places that [we] should live." OUCH! And so it is with a humbled heart that sometimes does a big flip, resulting in a tantrum, that I say we are looking for a house. Not in PG. Sigh.
God will use me in this place whether I like it or not. If I am not willing to go along with the path He has set before me, how will He bless me? And so again I say, I am content. That doesn't mean I will be okay with living here all the time. I will have tantrums now and then, I will long to be near my family, I will always desire to live in a smaller city but for now, this is where I am. This is where I need to let God use me.
