Brad, Carolyne, Joel, Nathan, Micah and Cooper. That's our family! One dad, one mom, THREE sons and one kitty. We love God and try to live lives that are pleasing to Him. We will use this blog to keep you updated on the family that God has blessed us with, to share our struggles, our joys, our laughter and tears and to share how God is working in us and through us.

Telus World of Science!

Again, way back in March... Miranda came for a little visit from Edmonton. It was soooo great to have her here - just her and I got her all to myself! We had a great few days together although she may never want to join Brad and I in a game ever again (I just can't handle his smirk!!!). Anyway, we took a little day trip down to the newly redone Science World. The kids, of course, had a blast! Balls, water, Lego and dinos - what more can 3 boys ask for??

Cypress

And here it is. One of the most perfect days of skiing. Brad and I made our way up to Cypress back on March 23rd while Mom & Dad watched the kiddos for us. It was a great day away and it almost made up for missing out on Big White this year. There was a tonne of snow, great runs and quick chairlifts. Throw in fantastic views and my new ski jacket and pants and well....
Can't believe it was our first time up on our mountains.... It won't be the last, that's for sure!
And yes, in case you were wondering, that spot on my forehead above my goggles gets really cold!!
Oh, also, Brad is really proud to say he did his first black diamond run (just don't remind him that it was only doable because the moguls weren't there)!
The Fireballs!

Joel loved playing soccer this year! The season started in September and they finally had their wrap up in March. Brad had the pleasure of taking him (and the 2 little guys) out every cold and rainy Saturday morning for his games. Maybe that's one bonus to working weekends?? Not the watching him play soccer part but I am happy to not be out in the cold and rain :)

Haven't been blogging...
It's not like I haven't taken any pictures or we haven't done anything lately....
I'm just being lazy. And they changed Picasa and I haven't taken time to figure it out yet.
Sorry. I do have lots to blog about. Pictures to show off. Skiing, flowers blooming, kids acting goofy. I'll get around to it eventually :(

Happy Valentine's Day!
Snow Days!

We did get out for some fun in the snow this year! Seeing as it's st
ill snowing and it's March 14, I figured it wasn't too late to post about this! The kids LOVED the snow! It lasted for a few days and we were on the hill at the school every day! Like all things though, snow has its time and now is not it. It's March. Please, no more!!!

Just LAUGH!!
This picture is old - from Nate's 3rd birthday celebration - but I just found it and had to post it! It makes me laugh out loud everytime I look at it! Pretty sure this is one that will be looked for when he's older (kind of like my Maudi Christmas picture!!).
Thanks Pauline for the hilarious shot of our boy :D

February Birthdays....
They've come and gone in a flash! Joel turned 6. Brad turned "half way to 70"! I have pictures, I will blog them. But for now this has to do. How did I used to have time to blog?? Anyway, it'll come, eventually :)
I've finally added a few birthday pictures. Joel had a Beyblade party this year with a few old friends and a few new ones from school. We had fun planning his little party - Brad loves putting games together for the kids and I made some beautiful Beyblade cupcakes...they may not have looked great, but they tasted great!! Can't believe our boy is 6. Joel has changed lots this year, being in school is definitely encouraging him to grow up fast!
We also had a great time celebrating Mama, Joel and Brad - whose birthdays are all 2 days apart in February - with the whole Breedveld side of the family.

17 x 2 = 34
And that's how old I am today. 34. I guess I'm getting up there.
There will be more to this post but my eyes hurt and I can't type. Seriously tired after working 4 nights. only had 3.5 hours of sleep last night. I don't think that's quite enough to function normally. though I was able to pull of a dinner of Jamie O's stew and Knopfli.
Since Friday morning I have only slept 20 and a half hours. blurg.

Happy. New. 2012
2012. This year marks so many things. 10 years married. 10 years of living down "here". A decade of snowless winters, traffic jams and wild blackberries.
But this year marks the beginning of many new things too.
As far as I'm concerned, the biggest change is my new job. I have gone from working at UBC, otherwise known as the "Country Club" to working at RCH, otherwise known as the ghetto, crazy, busy place, trauma centre...etc. Obviously, I am still doing x-rays so at least something has stayed the same, HOWEVER, my job is completely different!! The equipment, the computer programs, the people, the protocols, the techniques...I feel like a student again and it has been a very humbling experience. I'm being taught by kids, 10 years younger than me. I'm being trained by techs who just finished school. Humbling. Anyway, I am just over half done my orientation. I am looking forward to getting to my regular schedule of working 2-3 days a week instead of 4. I'm having a hard time keeping home and work life balanced. The laundry piles up. The floors get washed by Brad (THANK YOU - best husband EVER). Our meals are kind of whatever I can put together (though I have to say we've been fed quite frequently by friends and family so here's a little shout out to you too - THANK YOU!!).
Now for an update on the kids:
Joel - is enjoying Kindergarten. Most of the time. He loves to sing, especially his own made up songs. He loves to try to spell words. He is playing soccer twice a week and is super anxious to be able to ride his scooter to school. He weighs 50 lbs and is 47.5" tall. Joel just got his first adult tooth (molar on the bottom right).
Nathan - has just started preschool! He loves it! His teachers are awesome and he is always excited to go to his class. Dealing with him afterwards is another story as he is always very tired and being 3 he has figured out that when he is tired and hungry he can cry. Loudly. Nathan weighs 39 lbs and is 40" tall. His favourite thing to do is ride his run bike.
Micah - is funny. He is a little goofball that will laugh at almost anything, just not when his brothers attack him. He is generally a happy little guy who has figured out what he wants. Usually it's craisins or raisins or Cheerios that he finds in the cupboard.... He is picking up some words now too. He says Mama, Dada, Mommy, Cooper, Joel (sounds like Dohl). When asked if he wants something he will answer with a "yah". So cute. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He has 14 teeth. Looking forward to those last 2 eye teeth to come in so we can have a break from teething until the next round. Micah weighs 27 lbs and is 33" tall.

December Concerts...
First Christmas!

Christmas with Brad's side of the family was a week early this year! We enjoyed having them over for a fine Italian feast of lasagne, followed by some fun gift opening (mostly fun for my kids because they get to open all their presents while the other kids only get one or two...). It was a fun night , already over a month ago though! I guess that means there are only 11 more months to go until we can do it all again! Thank you for all the lovely gifts! We are blessed with wonderful families who enjoy being together - that alone is enough!
